The FNB Women's Super League Round 3 and 4 fixtures produced intense action for football fans at the Namibia Football Association (NFA) technical stadium in Windhoek last Saturday.

In a stunning display of skill and dominance, Ongos Ladies FC emerged victorious with a resounding 5-1 full-time score over Ongwediva Queens FC.

The pitch became a stage for Girls & Goals FC’s prowess as they outplayed Arrows Ladies FC in a match that showcased their strategic brilliance in a 2-0 victory. Arrows Ladies fought valiantly to level the playing field, but Girls & Goals defence proved impenetrable.

Girls & Goals goalkeeper showed exceptional reflexes, denying any attempts to breach the goal line and maintaining the teams’ clean sheet, sending a clear message to their competitors.

“We had a very disappointing match. We just need to go back to the drawing board,” Arrows Ladies FC coach, Salmon Nakale, said.

Great game

Ongos Ladies FC head coach Shama Gure applauded Ongwediva Queens FC, saying: “They brought a very good display of football, very clinical in the opening 20 minutes. Somewhere along the line, we regained the dominance, giving us a competitive advantage into the final third of the first half. Through a little bit of team talk and capitalising on loopholes the opposition gave us, we started counting the much-needed goals”.

Girls & Goals FC head coach Ronnie Hoxobeb told his players to fight and score. “It's our first game in the league, so we could see that we were struggling. The only way to win is by scoring, and we managed to score two goals and we’ll take it to the next game."
