The Southern Business School Namibia's graduation ceremony for its successful students took place recently. A total of 225 graduates of different programmes and degrees were honoured and rewarded with degrees, following their hard work.

This shows a steady increase of the number of students graduating each year from Southern Business School Namibia and the students are pursuing higher levels of degrees.

The students graduating and receiving Masters' degrees, Bachelor degrees (Honours), Certificates in Management as well as advanced degrees sacrificed a lot to obtain these NQA-recognised qualifications. Sleepless nights, time away from family, missing out on social engagement just to finish the required assignments all have led to this graduation ceremony for the students.

Mr. Albin Jacobs, Director of SBS Namibia presided over the graduation as Master of Ceremonies and made the welcoming remarks, whilst Mr J R Beukes, CEO: Namibia Training Authority gave the keynote address during the ceremony. He emphasised the need for education and educated people to help in building up Namibia further. “Most of the graduates today were juggling a full-time job whilst opting to pursue tertiary education through Distance Learning with SBS Namibia. Not an easy road to take when wanting to improve your education levels, but ultimately very rewarding for both the individual and the country.”

The students received their degrees and certificates in many different fields and sectors that SBS Namibia offers. Students received degrees in; Advanced Diploma in Management, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Policing Practice, Bachelor of Business Administration Honours, Bachelor of Policing Practice Honours and Masters Degrees as well as students being put in the spotlight for specific academic achievements.

Albin Jacobs, Director of the Southern Business School Namibia, stated at the ceremony: “These students are not only ensuring a better life for themselves through education, but they are empowering the nation through knowledge. That is an incredibly powerful notion and one that we at SBS Namibia are extremely proud of and in turn we share in the pride and accomplishments of our students who have worked so hard. Distance Education is a real and viable alternative to pursuing tertiary education.”

Through its 'Hands-on, Minds-on, Hearts-on' philosophy, Southern Business School Namibia has transformed many lives by securing their futures with a strong foundation in skills and knowledge. The proud, students, parents, partners and friends of those graduating were very conscious of the significance of the event and the achievements of the graduates.
