On Friday, 5 November 2021, Swapo regional councillors accompanied Member of Parliament and office of the First Lady representative Lucia Witbooi while handing over a generous donation.

The donation of 500 sling bags, sanitary pads and stationery went to the Mukorob Primary School at Amperbo village in the Hardap region.

Altogether Witbooi brought 1 000 bags and has taken the decision to divide the bags between the //Karas and Hardap regions.

“It is my pleasure to make this donation in the regions where I’m from. Four schools will benefit from this donation. The sanitary pads will be given to the Life Skills teachers of each school to use when the need and emergency arise,” she said during the donation handover.

No better time

According to the Hardap governor, Salomon April, the donation could not have come at a better time. This was conveyed by his personal assistant, Hercules Jantze.

“Most parents did not even know where they might get stationery for their children to be able to write examinations. This came at the right time for the preparations of exams,” Jantze said.

In light of the donation, Mukorob Primary School acting principal Beate Nepunda said the children should not take this for granted.

“We must carry the torch of love and learn to return the generosity that has been showed to us, to be able to live up to the expectations that is placed on our school,” Nepunda said.
