Otjiwarongo’s new CEO reports for duty
The newly appointed chief executive officer of the Otjiwarongo municipality, Moses Matyayi, took office on Monday.
The 36-year-old Matyayi replaces the former CEO, Ismael |Howoseb, who retired from office in December.
Welcoming the new CEO, Otjiwarongo mayor Bennes Haimbondi said the town has many challenges, such as the ongoing land grabbing issue in the Ombili informal settlement, a growing number of street vendors and the construction of a public open market.
While signing his five-year contractual employment agreement in the presence of other senior managers of the municipality, Matyayi promised to deliver a superior leadership and quality service to the residents of the town and the local authority council.
Prior to his appointment at the Otjiwarongo municipality, Matyayi was the CEO of the Otavi town council, a position he filled from April 2010 to January this year.
He also worked for the Otjiwarongo municipality as human resources, industrial relations and training officer from 2008 to 2010.
Matyayi holds a master’s degree in human resources from the London Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom, as well as BA degree and a national diploma in strategic business and human resources management. - Nampa
