Standard Bank supports NAMA'S
Standard Bank recently announced its sponsorship of N$250 000 towards the 7th Namibian Annual Music Awards for 2017.
“As a conscious corporate citizen and sponsor to the NAMA's, Standard Bank is pleased to be part of the band to this local music spectacle that is geared towards promoting and recognizing the talent that keeps the beats in our ears,” said Surihe Gaomas-Guchu, PR & Communications Manager at Standard Bank.
This year, the Bank is sponsoring three categories namely: Best Pan African Artist of the Year, Best Group Duo and Best Traditional.
“Music transcends culture, belief, age . . . it unifies through storytelling and lingers in the fibre of our existence. In this context our financial contribution speaks volumes to our commitment to enable the growth in this aspiring industry while we keep moving the nation forward as a universal and diverse bank represented across Namibia and the African continent as a whole,” she said.
The NAMA's is set to take place on 28th and 29th of April 2017 in the coastal town of Walvis Bay. “With a total investment of N$17-million, the 2017 NAMA's is geared towards celebrating the achievements and hard work of local musicians and this year the event is mostly dominated by newcomers and live bands,” said Tim Ekandjo, Chief human Capital and Corporate Affairs Officer of MTC. The popular local music event is jointly organized by MTC and NBC.
