The face of the southern branch
Muhuura is a secretary/receptionist at NHE in Keetmanshoop.

Victoria Ndemupa Muhuura was born in Wavis Bay. She attended at Andimba Toivo ya Toivo Secondary School in the Oshana Region, and furthered her studies at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), where she obtained her B-Tech in business administration in 2017 and a business management honours degree in 2019.
“I am now pursuing a master of business administration degree at the UNICAF University in London, United Kingdom,” she said.
Work experience
Her first job was at the ministry of education as a library assistant in 2008. She was later promoted to senior library assistant in 2011. In 2012, she was transferred to Eemwandi Combined School in Omusati as an administrative officer until December 2013.
From 2014 to 2019, she worked as a senior private secretary to the regional governor of Oshana.
“I am currently working for National Housing Enterprise (NHE) as a secretary/receptionist at the southern branch in Keetmanshoop,” she said.
As a secretary/receptionist, her job is all about giving support to the regional manager on the day-to-day administration of the office and keeping track of his activities in his absence.
“I also promote the image and credibility of the company by receiving visitors courteously,” she said.
Her other role is to manage all administrative mail and office documents. This also includes organising meetings, preparing minutes for the branch meeting and dealing with other administrative matters.
Challenges and accomplishments
Muhuura lost both of her parents, and took on the responsibility of being a parent to her three siblings, taking care of them and supporting them financially.
Despite the challenges of being employed on a full-time basis while studying and being the breadwinner and funding her sibling’s studies without any financial assistance, she still managed to complete her degrees.
Her days start with her arriving on time, early in the morning, and then going over her schedule and liaising with colleagues on pending administrative tasks.
Then, as the day progresses, she deals with incoming emails, phone calls and visits.
“In my spare time, I will do administrative tasks. Before leaving the workplace, I prepare my work schedule for the following day,” she added.
When Muhuura was serving as a senior private secretary to the governor of Oshana Region, she said she was most impressed by Ambassador Kashuupulwa, Namibia's ambassador to Russia.
"He has always told me that I am creative and have the ambition to take on more. This encouraged me to do well in my work as well as in personal growth,” she said.
Muhuura wants to grow as a person in her career and contribute significantly to the mandate of her current organisation. She added the best memories in her life so far are countless, but one that stands out is completing her honours degree.
