Celebrating local cuisine
For the love of kapana
The Let's Eat Kapana Festival will be hosted in Swakopmund later this month.
A Swakopmund-based consultancy company will host the Let's Eat Kapana Festival from 24 to 26 August at the open space west of Germina Shitaleni Multipurpose Centre.
Sponsored by the municipality of Swakopmund, the event organised by Nashville Investments aims to celebrate and promote kapana as a delicacy and boost the local economy.
The managing director of the company, Nangula Nashandi, said exhibitors will receive an opportunity to make a profit. "This Let's Eat Kapana Festival initiative will celebrate the culture of food by selling kapana meat and sharing other Namibian traditional cuisines. Visitors will be required to pay an entrance fee of N$10 to allow exhibitors a 100% opportunity to take advantage of their target market."
Nashville Investments consists of young female entrepreneurs aiming to empower the youth and promote self-employment in the different business fields in Namibia. The company has 15 years of experience in event consultancy and has organised several successful events.
