No fishing without Leon's tackle
Best bait in town
Leon's Tackle Shop is hook, line, sinker and bait the one stop-shop for every fisherman's needs.
Everyone knows who Leon Krauze is – at least everyone in the recreational and competitive angling circles at the coast – and knowing him, one will also know that Leon's Tackle Shop in Henties Bay and Swakopmund provide a variety of quality fishing equipment, tackle and bait for any good fishing experience.
With Henties Bay expected to be abuzz during the annual Henties Bay Festival, a lot of angling is expected to take place, and according to Krauze, they are ready to receive all the locals and visitors.
In fact, a consignment of a variety of fresh bait for the well-known steenbras to kabeljou and galjoen, and everything else that can be caught along Namibia's shores, will be available soon.
According to him, while they have a wide range of rods, and reels and tackle, they are famous across the country for their bait.
"We do a lot of effort to get the best bait. We get regularly new bait from SA and we keep that – that is our core business," he said.
"We have big, small, sardine, chokka, and summer baits, and also white mussels and red bait."
The shop is already in business for the last 12 years, and he, being a competitive angler, always wanted to make sure he has the right equipment and tackle and bait to fish for fun and competitively, and so he imported it.
"The friends also wanted, and so that is how it all started, and we specialise on rock and surf, and we cater for the professionals and for the weekend angler," he said. "We have a bit of everything."
Krauze is also part of the organisation of the Henties Bay Festival, and tickets will also be available for the festival and fishing competiton.
"The old fish festival like we know it, can be expected. It's going to be great fun," he said.
