Brian Sobel: Inline hockey coach

Fast-paced, driven, full of excitement and action are the words to describe inline hockey, according to coach Brian Sobel. The sport features gliding over the court with roller skates, and can be compared to ice hockey but the shoes are different for the two disciplines.

“The sports itself takes many skills into action at once,” Sobel explained.

Equipped with a heavy schedule, Sobel is the coach of Coastal Pirates in Swakopmund. Training takes place for four weeks, with training hours that runs the whole day - seven hours each day.

Sobel operates as a national coach and travels with his team once a year to the world championships
