Innocent Enkali, widely known as Enkal.i, embodies the essence of a modern-day musician. As a civil engineering degree holder, Enkali uniquely blends technical acumen with artistic flair, carving a distinctive path in Namibia's vibrant music scene.

A musician is a skilled artist who creates, performs, and sometimes records music. Musicians specialise in playing musical instruments, singing, or composing melodies and lyrics to produce songs. They play a vital role in the entertainment industry, contributing to various genres and styles of music that resonate with audiences worldwide.

"Expressing myself through music has been consistent in every part of my life," he said.

His musical career has been marked by a deep-seated passion that has shaped his career trajectory and brought him personal fulfilment.

Central to Enkali's artistry is his involvement in Private 6, a collective that he views as more than just a group of artists. "To me, Private 6 is a community of friends who communicate their talents as a single unit," he explained. This collaborative spirit has been instrumental in their collective success, fostering an environment of trust and creativity.

Identifying primarily as a musician, Enkali's role extends beyond performing on stage to encompass directing, producing and leveraging his engineering background to innovate within the industry.

"I want to tell my son that he can be whoever he wants to be," he said, highlighting his commitment to overcoming challenges and achieving personal and professional goals.

According to Enkali, authenticity, empathy and community engagement are essential attributes for success in the competitive music industry.

"Be yourself and see yourself in others," he advised, emphasising the importance of building meaningful connections and making a positive impact within communities.
