Roger Waldemar Rafael: Film-maker
Roger Waldemar Rafael, better known as Nino, is a Namibian film-maker and the producer of the web series ‘Ompata’.
As a director, he controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects and visualises the screenplay while guiding the crew and actors in the fulfilment of that vision.
He said his favourite part about being a film-maker is brainstorming, shooting and putting whatever vision or idea he has on screen. Rafael studied film at the SAE Institute in Cape Town and said: “This is something everyone should get into. Especially in Namibia, we have loads of stories that need to be told”.
According to him, there's nothing hard about his job as being a film-maker is part of him. As further expressed his love for storytelling, adding: “When it comes to telling a story, no one can beat me at it”.
