Taimi Nuunyango: Make-up artist
Award-winning make-up artist Taimi Nuunyango started doing make-up in 2018 because she wanted to make her own money. “I've always liked nice things, and I knew I couldn't rely on my parents forever, so this was my way of meeting them halfway. Little did I know it would be so successful.”
Make-up artists are beauty professionals who do regular make-up or engage in prosthetic design. Their key responsibilities include enhancing facial aesthetics with cosmetics, creating personalised looks for clients and assisting performers on film shoots.
According to Nuunyango, transportation a huge challenge for her.
“I am unable to provide consistent house-call services to my consumers because I do not own a car and I rely on cab-hailing services. I am prone to being late for appointments, which does not reflect well on my brand.”
Although she faces challenges, her inspiration comes from wanting to always do better. “Offering my clients a better service experience and just my passion for serving people is what keeps me going,” she said.
