Erongo Marine appoints new finance manager

Walvis Bay-based Erongo Marine Enterprises (EME), a subsidiary of the Oceana Group, announced the appointment of Nezette Beukes as its new finance manager.



Beukes’ role involves localising the EME finance function in conjunction with the EME financial director Kuda Hartzenberg. According to the EME, Beukes is no stranger to the team as she was previously employed as managing director (2019 to 2023) and financial director (2015 to 2018) at Etosha Fishing, an associate company of the Oceana Group.



Beukes was born in Walvis Bay. With a strong sense of purpose and dedication, she worked her way up through the ranks from humble beginnings as an office administrator to executive roles. Whilst working at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, she completed her Bachelor of Commerce Degree through the University of South Africa in 2006 on a part-time basis.



“Since then, her passion, commitment and exceptional competence, have landed her prominent financial management positions with leading companies in Walvis Bay, including the Merlus Group of Companies, Namsov Fishing Enterprises and Manica Group of Companies, before being appointed at Etosha Fishing. Knowing her financial acumen, work ethic and integral understanding of Group finance, Nezette will add tremendous value to the EME team,” the company said.



EME is part of the Oceana Group, one of the largest fishing companies in Africa with dual listing on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange and the Namibian Stock Exchange and is the biggest employer in the Namibian horse mackerel industry.

The company operates through joint ventures with key empowerment partners in Namibia and is a shareholder of three quota holding companies of which all are Namibian registered entities. These are Arechanab Fishing and Development Company, Erongo Seafoods and Cerocic Fishing.



Since 1990, EME has achieved a reputation as a credible, stable and preferred supplier of horse mackerel (Trachurus capensis), harvested and processed to international standards. The company supplies top-quality products to the local, SADC, African and international markets. The company operates two Namibian flagged, mid-water trawlers with a combined annual catch of approximately 60 000 tons.
