Nearly 130 matches were played among six different schools, ranging from under 7 to under 13 at Laerskool Walvisbaai's annual Sports Day.
Laerskool Walvisbaai was a beehive of activity the past weekend with its annual Sports Day hosted at the school grounds.
Schools such as Walvis Bay Gymnasium, Windhoek Gymnasium, International School of Walvis Bay, Narraville Primary School, Duneside High School and off course the hosts, Laerskool Walvisbaai engaged in chess, netball, hockey and rugby games.
Kicking off as early as 08:00, the action continued late into day with nearly 130 matches played across the netball, hockey and rugby fields. The majority of these 130 games were played on the netball courts.
School director Charl Theron said that it was a great day for sports, adding that the everyone can get ready for another great event next year.
"In total 740 children attended our Sports Day and I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of our recent sports day. A special thank you to the leadership of LWB and the respective schools, the parents, staff, and coaches, as well as our generous sponsors. Your support made this event possible. A huge congratulations to our participants who gave their best. We are looking forward to deeper connections, special interactions and most importantly, more fun and wonderful experiences next year."
