Deep Yellow Limited, in collaboration with its subsidiary Reptile Mineral Resources and Exploration (Pty) Ltd (RMR), has recently made an impactful donation to Namib High School in Swakopmund.

The donation, valued at N$41,700, is a significant contribution which includes new sports clothing as well as funding for the construction of cement seating. The initiative aims to upgrade the school's sports facilities and provide vital support for its athletic teams.

This funding is intended to enhance the school's sports infrastructure, providing the necessary tools and facilities for students to excel in their athletic pursuits. By investing in these improvements, the companies are helping to elevate the performance of Namib High School’s sports teams in local, regional, and national competitions.

Highlighting Core Values

A rather thoughtful gesture of this donation is the newly constructed outdoor seating area, which prominently features the values "Respect, Compassion, and Humility." These words are carefully displayed on the seating, serving as a visual reinforcement of the principles that Namib High School upholds.

The seating area is not only a practical addition to the school’s sports facilities but also a symbolic representation of the values that guide students both in their academic and extracurricular activities. This thoughtful integration of core values into the school's environment aims to inspire and remind students of the virtues which are central to their personal development.

Roosmarie September, the Principal of Namib High School, expressed her deep appreciation for the generous support from RMR and Deep Yellow Limited. "This donation significantly impacts our sports teams and the overall morale of our students. Our teams can participate at any level with pride. The new seating area is a constant reminder of the values we strive to instil in our learners."

Community Development

Katrin Kärner, Exploration Manager at RMR, emphasised the company's ongoing dedication to supporting the communities where it operates. "Our company is committed to supporting the communities in which we operate. This initiative is a testament to our ongoing efforts to contribute positively and sustainably to the local community."

Investing in the facilities and well-being of students, not only supports their immediate needs but also contributes to their long-term growth and success.

Students and Community

This significant donation from Deep Yellow Limited and RMR represents more than a financial contribution, but rather an investment in the future of Namib High School and its students. By enhancing the school’s sports facilities and providing essential sports gear, the companies are supporting not only the athletic development of students but also reinforcing the importance of core values that contribute to their overall success. The long-term impact of this initiative is expected to be extensive and foster a positive environment for students and strengthen the school’s role in the community.

This initiative highlights Deep Yellow Limited and RMR’s unwavering commitment to community development and their dedication to supporting educational advancement in Namibia. The generous donation serves as a model for corporate responsibility and community engagement, demonstrating the companies' efforts to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and the broader community.
