Die Elektrisiteitsbeheerraad (ECB) se uitvoerende hoof Robert Kahimise sê die regering het ingegryp om die finansiële las op kragverbruikers te verlig. Volgens Kahimise het die regering ná gesprekke met die ministerie van myne energie besluit om sowat N$365 miljoen beskikbaar te stel om verbruikers vir die 2024/2025 finansiële jaar te subsidieer. Dit het reeds op 1 Julie in werking getree en geld tot 30 Junie aanstaande jaar. Die subsidie beteken verbruikers betaal dieselfde tariewe as die goedgekeurde tariewe van die 2023/2024 finansiële jaar. Die ECB het 'n verhoging van 8% vir die grootmaattarief vir Nampower in April goedgekeur. Goedkeuring vir tariewe vir kragverspreiders is op 27 Junie aangekondig en sou gevolglik op 1 Julie in werking getree het.
