The Swakopmund Leo’s Club emerge as brainwaves of change, expressing the spirit of “We Serve” with unwavering dedication.

As part of Region E of Lions International District, the Swakopmund Leo’s Club stands tall amidst 53 other clubs, collectively comprising around 1 000 members, including 10 Namibian clubs.

This dynamic organisation, comprised of passionate and driven young individuals, has been making waves with its impactful community projects and initiatives, setting a shining example for youth engagement and leadership development.

Led by a dedicated team of members, the Swakopmund Leo’s Club has been actively involved in various projects aimed at uplifting the local community. From environmental conservation efforts to educational initiatives and social welfare programs, the club’s commitment to making a positive difference is truly commendable.

One of the hallmarks of the Swakopmund Leo’s Club is its focus on engaging youth in meaningful activities that not only benefit the community but also foster personal growth and development. By providing opportunities for young people to actively participate in service projects, the club helps instill values such as compassion, empathy, and teamwork, which are essential for becoming responsible and engaged citizens.

The president of the Omega Leo’s Club, Jonathan Harris, spoke passionately about the Swakopmund Leo’s Club’s mission and vision for the future.

“Our goal is to empower young people to become agents of change in their communities,” he explained.

“Through our projects and initiatives, we aim to inspire a sense of purpose and responsibility among youth, encouraging them to take ownership of the issues facing our society and work towards solutions.”

He highlighted some of the club’s recent projects, including beach clean-ups, tree planting campaigns, and educational workshops on topics such as health awareness and career development. These initiatives not only contribute to the betterment of the community but also provide valuable learning experiences for the participating youth, helping them develop essential skills and competencies that will serve them well in the future.

“The Swakopmund Leo’s Club is more than just a volunteer organisation; it’s a platform for young people to realise their potential and make a meaningful impact in the world,” Harris emphasised.

“By getting involved in community service and taking on leadership roles within the club, members gain invaluable life skills and experiences that shape them into well-rounded individuals.”
