JUST IN: First census salaries to be paid on Monday
The Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) says, to date, it has already made training allowance, field staff allowance and transport allowance payments to census field staff, which include the enumerators, team supervisors and constituency supervisors.
It said the currently outstanding payments to the more than 13 0000-strong census field staff is their actual salaries, adding that this payment process involves verification.
The NSA said for both the census field staff salaries and the transport service providers, it pays per region that is fully verified, and the first region's payment will be made on Monday.
The agency will also aim to make these first payments today, provided that these payment batches are successfully verified.
The payment process of the more than 2 700 vehicle owners entails contract verifications, reconciliation of the fuel used versus the balance to be paid to the service provider, days worked as well as the verification of their banking details.
