Music fans are in for a treat at the Swakop Indie Music Festival – Easter Edition, to be staged by Tribe One Productions in association with Radiowave FM.

The family-friendly event, which includes local musicians and will benefit the Have-a-Heart Foundation, takes place on Saturday, 30 March at the Paintball and Adventure Park in Swakopmund.

A percentage of the proceeds will go to Have-a-Heart, a charity that facilitates the spaying and neutering of pets from lower-income households. This is a cause near the heart of festival organiser and musician Riaan Smit, who is the Namibian ambassador for Have-a-Heart.

Attendees can look forward to diverse performances by talented local musicians, bands, and artists throughout the day. From soulful melodies to high-energy beats, the festival offers something for everyone, and in addition to live music, there will be a variety of stalls, kiddie entertainment, jumping castles, and other family-friendly activities to enjoy.

According to Smith, The Swakop Indie Music Festival celebrates the diversity and creativity of independent musicians in Namibia.

“As a platform dedicated to promoting local talent, the festival showcases a wide range of musical genres, including blues, rock, jazz, hip-hop, pop, and even a capella. With its Easter Edition, the festival aims to create an inclusive and family-friendly environment where music lovers of all ages can come together to enjoy a day of entertainment and music. Bring your friends and family, and be sure not to miss out on what promises to be the highlight of this year’s Easter weekend at the coast.”

Smith emphasised that the Swakop Indie Music Festival is committed to supporting the growth and success of local musicians.

“By attending the festival, music enthusiasts have the opportunity to discover new artists, connect with the local music scene, and show their support for homegrown talent.”

The artist line-up for the day includes Riaan Smit & the ShadowKatz, Vaughn Ahrens Band, Nomad the Poet, Lin-Mari, Jessica Ashley, Jacob & Taylor, Crowd One DJs, Janelle Botha & Die Wandelaars, Sagarias Tsam, 8th Octaves A Cappella, Cassidy, and some surprise acts.

The gates open at 10:00. General admission tickets cost N$200, and tickets at the gate on the day are N$300. Tickets are available online via Webtickets or at any Pick n Pay stores nationwide.
