A New Namibia
JOHN VAN HEERDEN WRITES:
The most powerful breakthrough to freedom in Namibia will be total brave honesty in the safety of love, and confession.
Namibia needs a new liberation movement that will set our country free! We need freedom fighters! Freedom fighters who are already free and can help others to be set free.
It will be called NewNam. a New Namibia, a truly free Namibia.
The weapons they will use are powerful. They are love, honesty, public confession, truth, humility, admitting weakness, admitting failure, admitting corruption, theft, self-enrichment, selfishness, pride, greed, arrogance and tribalism.
But there are only a few people worldwide who know how they work. And it takes real humility to operate and use them well and effective.
A very unpopular truth is that we need real love to truly set Namibian free. That love is not in politics and/or the media, but it is real, exists and is possible.
There is a powerful Manual on how to use these weapons. Only a few people worldwide know how to read and interpret the Manual correctly and effectively for the right results and outcome.
And the author of the Manual is still alive and available for personal guidance and advice.
Namibia became a political free country in 1990 after a long liberation struggle and war against colonialism, racism, oppression and many brave ones gave and sacrificed their lives to free us from oppression and minority rule.
There was great celebration and joy! And we still celebrate Independence Day.
However, is Namibia really free? To answer this question truthfully will take a brave and honest look at what is really happening to all Namibians right down to a grassroots level. All Namibians!
The love we need to really free all Namibians will take brave and absolute honesty from all involved in government, business, schools, municipalities, families, tribes and all levels of life from the top to grassroots level. Very few people know or have experienced that love.
It is not easy at all to be fearlessly honest. But it is possible and can be encouraged, motivated, promoted and a true nationwide liberation struggle can be launched. It is crucial to create a “safe place” to launch such a powerful breakthrough.
OVERCOME THE FEAR
I am currently writing about my own personal experience of honesty. The fear to be honest can be overcome and is a big and wonderful step to freedom for all.
It is a painful and terrifying process to be nakedly honest with others about shameful reactions to situations, painful experiences, weaknesses, faults and lack of understanding. In today’s overcrowded and fast-moving media-mad society, I (or we) can ignore my missteps, my desperate reactions, in fear of what others might think, or say, about me (or us). We are very concerned about our reputation. Then I (we) blame-shift, deny, ignore, remain silent or explain it away and, in fear of shame and rejection, I (we) do nothing.
The Bible mentions something similar about the “self”, saying “you look in the mirror and see yourself and walk away and forget what you saw”.
A good place to start is when you switch off the light at night. At that point you are faced with who you really are.
To be faced with myself and, in all honesty, admit to myself who I really am, takes years of building courage to eventually face and admit it to others.
The poor, the hungry, the rejected, the destitute, the sick, all compare themselves with those who are “out there” and successful. And they evaluate themselves compared to those who appear to be successful but are not honest about deeper issues in their lives.
When we are young, we think, or at least we have a hidden self-opinion, that we know everything about anything. It just comes with being young, opinionated and trying to impress. As we grow older, and almost painfully more honest, we realize we know more and more about less and less, or in beautiful honesty, eventually about very little. This is not through memory loss and age, it is the beauty, when honest, of growing older and hopefully more honest publicly and humbly wiser.
HUMILITY
A powerful truth I’ve learnt through painful experiences, and much prayer and confession, is that the real person you are is not the car you drive, the house you own, the job you have, how much money you have, how well you dress, how well you speak, what you look like etcetera. The real you are the person who switches off the light at night, the person who sits on the toilet, the person alone and naked in the shower. The real you are just a human being like everyone else, the person in the body ... weak and fragile.
That truth is a very powerful and big step to honesty and true freedom in life.
It will set us free and help us to set others free in love and humility and to help others who are suffering in weakness, sickness, poverty, loneliness, pain, and more.
Real and powerful compassion, love, sympathy and care will grow out of complete honesty, confession and transparency and will lead to a real and powerful outreach and care for others.
That is what NewNam – a true liberation movement – must be about.
The youth movement of NewNam will be called FreeNam – a truly free new generation!
The Manuel I mentioned stated powerfully and clearly: “The truth will set you free”.
