“Dienda: Jeug is ‘lui, rigtingloos’”:

Most of us are first generation, we don’t come from anything other than tradition, we face modern hardships, unlike what our ancestors had to endure, though they still had it much worse than us. As a Namibian male youth, I have hopes and aspirations for myself, my child and my family. But our nations leaders has made it so much easier for the youth to fall victim to these types of labels. How have you really engaged with the youth, where are the opportunities for the youth that we are all so lazy and directionless to endeavor into? A leader of the Namibian people says we are lazy and directionless! When last did you engage with the youth to come to this conclusion? Being in agreement with the leaders statement, there must be some background to your mutuality of thought in this matter. How can you change things for the better for the youth? The one institution in this country that was created for the purpose of collecting, analyzing, producing, and sharing official statistics for Namibia went and changed the way of doing things to better suit the elite, and now suddenly there is a willing to work group and a not-willing to work group among the unemployed people of the country. Suddenly it appears that we have less unemployment in the country because we don’t want to work. Can you survive on a salary of N$1 000/month, whilst having people to feed, accommodation that needs to be paid, and transport to get to this job and home each day. Are we just supposed to be happy robots and do what needs to be done for the elite to continue enriching themselves? How long do you think you would endure this hardship? Oh how I pray for a better Namibia for us all. But you can’t even count on an election to bring change these days in Namibia. God Bless Namibia! We really need You now more than ever before. – Hushang van Zyl

Because political leaders set an example blaming history exclusively thereby creating entitlement. – Izak Smit

The demand for politicians to retire is wrong. The youth must study, work, get experience, and build a solid asset base. A hungry politician will be more dangerous than any you have seen so far! – Steve Motinga
