“Ons gaan nie die ECN blameer, sê Mbumba:”

En wat gaan hy daaromtrent doen? – Jane Jeanell

It’s good that he is being honest, all those guys at ECN must be fired for being incompetent. – PK WA Sikongo

Sir, is four years not enough to plan and have the logistics in place to conduct a smooth running election, or does the ECN need 10 years to get the logistics sorted out? – Cobus Smith

Dan moet die president instaan. – Rupping Theron

Let’s not blame ECN? Let’s not blame anybody? Let no one take responsibility? Then no one is accountable. That’s the way to do it! – Hand du Toit

I sincerely hope that what had happened, opened the eyes of our people. No matter who had won the elections, the blatant obvious manner in which this election was conducted and handled is absolutely questionable. It snowed for the sixth time Namibia had elections, and especially during the last two or three times of election there were some irregularities, but in a lesser way than this time. Opposition parties did notice it in the past and my thinking was that they would have stood together after that and found an amicable way to prevent it from happening again, but it seems to be forgotten after a few months of noise making. If other parties had worked together more seriously with a common goal in mind of ensuring that free and fear elections were held this time around, these shortcomings could have been prevented or at least lessened and not escalated into the way elections were held this time around. Win is win and loose is loose but should be in a free, fair and democratic manner. – Gideon Morkel

Most of us Namibians are not happy with the way this election was handled by ECN, regardless of what party we support, many of us could not vote Wednesday, but Friday and Saturday polling stations were only in certain towns and regions, what about the rest of Namibia who could not vote due to lack of services from ECN. My question is why is the ruling party okay with the way things were done by the ECN, why is no-one from the ruling party commenting on how things were done that affected the people who were so eager to vote, but could not? – Leonie van Wyk

It is not about winning or losing, it is about what is right. The right to vote is sacred. The right to a free and fair election is crucial. This is about the democracy of our country. This is not a soccer match where winning at any cost is acceptable. If you can’t see that, then you are part of the problem. – Sonia Carew

It’s not about winning but about the corruption that came with this voting. All parties are standing up whether they lost or not. If you are okay with this corruption then it says alot about you. – Laurika L Hattingh

It is not about the win. It is about how the nation was mistreated while trying to put our votes for a free and fair election which turned into a disaster at the end! – Lotti Ahrens Rousseau

I want to see what happened to my pencil mark, is it still where I crossed it or was it moved? – Elton Jacobs

It was the first thing that came to my mind. Why a pencil? – Nicolaas Izaks
