Replace Russia with India at UN Security Council

ANONYMOUS WRITES:

At the end of World War II, the United Nations was established in 1948 to prevent future wars. This body set up rules of engagement, codes of conduct, a universal charter of human rights, and diplomatic communication channels to promote peace and progress as well as resolving conflicts by emphasizing our common interests in humanity.

The victors of WWII became the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – USA, USSR, Great Britain, France and China. They had the power to veto UN Resolutions. This sabotaged majority opinion.

If in conflict don’t veto, but abstain e.g., Russia.

In 2022, the present security council no longer represents the interests of world harmony. The unprovoked “special military operation” by the Russian Federation, without a declaration of war against a sovereign state the Ukraine on 24 February 2022 stripped Russia of all moral authority. Might is not right. A bully is an unter mensch. The UN was toothless.

Seventy-seven years, after WWII the Russian Federation is a shrunken ex USSR giant with a large land mass, but only 150 million people an economy the size of Italy or Spain, a conventional army of dysfunctional recruits, which was “blood nosed” in Ukraine, led by a paranoid KGB operative who has no regard for the rule of law or human life. (Russian or other gun fodder). Putin threatens to throw his nuclear weapons out of his cot and start WWIII if things don’t go his way. He wants to turn the clock back to 1989 before the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The problem is not NATO. The problem is a total lack of democracy in Russia. Government of by for and with the people (A. Lincoln) is a threat to the autocratic Putin. Russia and Ukraine and the world suffer as a result of a megalomaniac personality disorder.

Our fuel price has shot up to N$20/liter impoverishing commuters and resulting in inflation especially of basic food stuffs (remember the Arab spring) (bread and sunflower oil).

A reformed UN Security Council could look like this USA/China/European Union/India (the world’s largest democracy) and alternating members – African Union, South America, Australasia.

Don’t waste money on weapons of war, sabre rattling and destruction. There are no winners in a war, only losers. Invest in people and a harmonious, prosperous, peaceful, better future – Ubuntu, Harambee, Vision 2030.

The “free of Putin” Russian people would vote for European Union Membership and trade oil and gas freely for prosperity. NATO would lose its protective purpose.

The world in the 21st Century, does not need another combo of prime evil – Hitler and Stalin.

The world wants peace, harmony and shared prosperity. Jesus did not die in vain on good Friday. He died so that our sins could be washed away. Our compass should/must be faith, hope and love.

The truth will set you free.

Pro bono omnium and Shalom. (For the common good and peace).
