Report Card!
SAPIENS WRITES:
The recent general election in Zimbabwe was not given a clean bill of health by the observers from SADC, the EU and the Commonwealth.
The election was technically flawed. Voting stations were not fully operational. ZANU PF controlled the process in its favour. There was intimidation.
An election is like a report card, on promises made before the last election and the services delivered since – economic growth, employment, health, education, buying power (low inflation), peace and security.
Due to the economic melt-down in Zimbabwe, a million people have left the country since Mugabe’s land reform in 2000. They voted no confidence of survival with their feet.
Since 2000, elections have been rigged by ZANU PF, in order to cling to power by hook or by crook. Their politics is about power abuse and not service delivery.
Namibia can and will do better in 2024 for the common good. Put Fishrot behind us.
