Rights and duties

A right is earned – liberation struggle. To maintain it for the common good, requires responsibility.

In the Jewish Talmud you only have duties, if you carry out your duties, your rights will follow. It is a matter of effort and reward, subject to conscience.

A father as a man, has the duty to look after his wife and children.

However, fifty percent of Namibian are born out of wedlock; unplanned, unprotected, unaffordable, uncared and unloved. The mother is left for nine months and beyond. She struggles through the magistrate for maintenance payments.

The half orphan is handicapped for life. It has no fatherly role model. It is physically, emotionally and intellectually stunted. If you sleep around, without precautions (condom) you produce a child recklessly, like bad debt (glipsie/weggooikind).

If you can only afford a 2x2, don’t go for a 4x4. Live within your carrying capacity; means of food, clothes, school, health, bed, home love and security.

The world has eight billion people. Namibia has 2,5 million people. Half of the youth are unemployed or underemployed. They often depend on pensioner parent to survive. Many steals or borrow to survive in the Land of the Brave.

Real men are responsible and take pride in their children. Women should not poison their children with alcohol during pregnancy.

Your child’s name is Tomorrow, your legacy. God has given you free will (choice). Make good choices guided by your conscience and common sense.

Looking back in hindsight, you must be able to say:

I have run the race,

I have fought the good fight,

I have kept the faith.
