The basic premise of what parties are promising

The election is just over 22 days away. Voters have had time to look at the different manifestos.
Interesting and somewhat disappointingly, most proposals by most parties rely on government intervention and regulation.
The cause of our woes: Government inefficiency, -corruption, -policy drift etc.
The cure: Give the government an even bigger role to play.
To my mind no party can make good on promises if they rely on that very mechanism that is underlying to Namibia's problems.
