Watch and pray

Sanet Pearson
EUNICE ANN VAN ZYL WRITES:We are living in the time where we must say fervent prayers for nations in Namibia where we seem to be experiencing a time of peace – a reason to be on our guard.

It reminds me of the film Titanic where the engineer was standing on the deck with one of the workers, who commented on how calm the sea was. The engineer looked concerned when he replied: “It will make it difficult to see the ice bergs.” We all know what happened to the Titanic.

I want to commend the DStv for screening Christian films for us in August and still. The Passion of the Christ was shown as well as The Prince of Egypt, Amazing Love and Faith like Potatoes. Thank you, we appreciate it.

From watching television, I have started noticing something interesting; something prophetic. Before the Covid pandemic, a film was shown called Contagion. I watched this film a few times because I sensed it carried a message. It did.

Then, not long ago, a film was made called I Robot. This was about robots being used to help humans in society. Then the robots started disobeying rules made especially for them and started being a danger to humans.

Sounds like artificial intelligence, doesn’t it?

I have watched interviews being done with computer scientists about artificial intelligence, at different times, with both fearing that their “brain child” was not such a good idea after all.

Often when the Holy Spirit wants to me to convey a message, he used things that I already know, that is why we must “watch and pray” to be ready for use for our Master, Jesus Christ.

All of us have a God-given opportunity to do what we are called to do. I thank God for the Republikein that allows me to remind us of what the Holy Scriptures say about His Second Coming, the Lord Jesus Christ says:

Matthew 24:42

“Therefore keep watch because you do not know what day your Lord will come.”

Luke 12:40 “You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”

God bless you
