We delivered, trust us!
SAPIENS WRITES:
We, the party, delivered post colonialism, the good (independence by bullet and ballot) but also the bad (self-service by title - commissioner (10%) entitlement, some wait, hope and pray leftover services) and the ugly (the bankruptcy of Air Namibia and the Fishrot scandal).
The best predictor of future performance (manifesto promises) is past performance. We have checks and balances, the National Assembly, the courts, Ministry of Justice, the Anti-Corruption Commission and public opinion via the media and the voters.
Thirty four years after independence, half the population still suffers from poverty - socio-economic deprivation, shacks, shebeens, food insecurity, gender based violence, unprotected sex, insecurity etc. due to un/underemployment.
“Families” often have absent fathers and no maintenance. The socio-economic struggle continues.
The people cannot eat votes based on promises and betrayed trust.
Poor people are not free.
