It's good that the Government is regulating the import of fruit and veg. Our own producers should be supported, and it's time that there is a local price market. Not like it is at the moment, that the South African owned fruit and veg wholesalers are making the prices. The producers must regulate the prices. A private regulated organisation should publish daily or weekly the minimum prices on different fruit and veg and should also tell what can be imported if not enough or not at all available. Small producers are stopping to plant as they have no local market to sell.
