Goeiedag.

Traditional Authority administration: I concur partly with what H.E. President Nangolo Mbumba said at Keetmanshoop on 4 April 2024. He stated categorically that he would not gazette any chief coming from divided traditional communities during his tenure of office. However, the communities are so widely divided that they won't ever sit around any drawing-board to work out modalities and find solutions to their differences and problems, especially pertaining to leadership squabbles, etc. The government should rather come up with workable remedial corrective measures, viz., sanctions like the withdrawal of monthly allowances and the withdrawal of official vehicles of the chiefs, because not everybody is benefitting from it. Why should you spend money on a system that is not working? I have a full understanding of why the government is incorporating them and recognising them as integral part of its local governance structures to bring socio-economic development closer to the populace and to enhance constitutional democracy in particular.
