NTB enhancing travellers’ experience

The Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) officially launched its new information desk at the Hosea Kutako International Airport to enhance the travel experience for visitors arriving in Namibia.

This dedicated space aims to engage visitors, providing them with valuable insights and guidance to enrich their experience in Namibia.

Chief executive officer of NTB Sebulon Chicalu said that the company is taking a significant step forward their mission to appreciate and welcome visitors from around the globe to experience the wonders and the best of Namibia.

“Namibia remains politically and economic stable, peaceful and a safe destination for all and much so for family and business travellers alike.”

Chicalu said that the establishment of this information desk is beyond just a physical presence at the airport, but it symbolizes their commitment to providing exceptional service and support

to every visitor who sets foot on Namibian soil.

‘Our committed team of tourism ambassadors is available to help visitors plan their journeys, whether they are interested in exhilarating safaris, cultural experiences, or peaceful retreats in nature and the amazing landscapes of the magical skeleton coast.”

Chicalu said that NTB aims to achieve a level of satisfaction for every traveller.

“Going forward, NTB will increase its awareness and stakeholder engagements programmes

to create a high level of awareness and expansion of the tourism economy to many

places in rural areas,” he said.

Chicalu said that in a world that is increasingly interconnected, tourism plays a vital role in driving economic growth, connecting people, and creating business opportunities for communities and young entrepreneurs.

“Our services here will assist our important stakeholders such as local operators, transfer services, taxi services, in information sharing and exchange of good customer service practices.”

He said that through a survey platform at their booth, they have already gathered feedback and

data from over 116 tourists since mid-January.

This information will help them identify travel trends and refine our strategic initiatives to continuously meet the needs of their visitors.

Acting NTB board chairperson Olavi Hamwele said that as the gateway to Namibia, Hosea Kutako International Airport has always been the first point of entry for many tourists.

“With this new initiative, we aim to enhance their journey right from the start. We are confident that the team at the information desk will help set the tone for their entire stay ensuring that they do not only learn about Namibia but also experience our country’s warmth and hospitality.”
