"Knowing which location you want to be and would feel most comfortable at is so important. You need to know where you want to be, but before that, you need to know your budget."
Sitemo also underlined the importance of accounting for all rental costs, including deposits, rates, taxes, and utilities. He pointed out that deposits are usually refundable, providing a safety net for renters.

Addressing concerns about the absence of rental contracts, Sitemo emphasised the necessity of formal agreements.
"It is important that you ask the landlord for a contract to thoroughly go through before even paying the first month’s rent," he said. Stressing the significance of contracts, Sitemo added: "Sometimes it happens that you find tenants that are very eager to move in and make payment without even asking for a contract. This usually comes off as a red flag to us realtors and landlords because, in most cases, such tenants have a bad record of either not paying on time or not adhering to contractual agreements."
