Thankfully, agencies such as Hashtag Home have brought a fresh new approach to the market, and in so doing, has established itself as the go-to estate agency for discerning, modern real estate investors, home-seekers and organisations looking for engaging spaces to work and grow.
Led by former commercial pilot and flight instructor Jannie Erasmus, the Hashtag Home team prioritise a holistic approach to business and this has seen them achieve massive success.
“With over 10 years’ experience in real estate sales and investment, we realised the need for a fresh approach to the real estate industry and thus conceptualised Hashtag Home,” he said during a recent interview with My.Na Property.“Hashtag Home is dedicated to creating a synergetic atmosphere for both our team and customers alike.
“Through providing our agents with continual coaching and mentoring, we’ve made personal growth the second nature of Hashtag Home. This enhanced interdependent relationship between the team enables us to provide a variety of marketing and property management solutions to suite your real estate needs,” he added.
Coaching and commitment
With his highly technical background, Erasmus felt that by merging the checklists and procedural nature of commercial aviation with the creativity and customer-centricity of the real estate industry, they could find the niche that would help their clientele find the perfect property or strike the best possible deal.
“The market is a very dynamic place, so what we like to do differently is work together as a unit to find the best solutions for our clients. We work closely with an top international real estate agent and professional coach, Dirk Zeller, who helps us to identify limiting beliefs and work toward positive outcomes,” he explained.
Employing these weekly coaching sessions, Erasmus then engages his team of 16 agents to help them maximise their potential, grow their support network and ultimately provide the best possible service to their clients.
Common purpose is powerful
Not only is their focus on forging mindful connections, impactful individual and professionals are part of their recipe for success. Their other trump card is the interdependent manner in which they work to achieve their individual and collective goals.
“In most agencies, your biggest enemy is sitting right to you and wants to work against you as if it’s a competition or race,” Erasmus said.
“Here at Hashtag Home, we work on an interdependent basis and try and stimulate an environment where we can work as a team to achieve collective success. For instance, any properties I list are open to any of my agents to put into the market and vice versa. We’ve also set up our commission and incentive structure in a manner that makes it conducive to sell a property with a colleague. This has resulted in our team being eager to work together to find solutions instead of struggling to get a positive outcome by yourself,” he added.
“We’re a big bunch of diverse personalities, each with our own strengths, but as a cohesive unit, we’re able to achieve so much more - all to the benefit of the organisation and our clients as a whole.”
Setting the groundwork
With their hard-won success over the years, the team at Hashtag Home have built up a reputation for efficiency, creativity and professionalism. This is all due to their sterling relationships with banks, conveyancers and other regulatory authorities, as well as a dedicated team of administrators who ensure that all statutory processes are given the utmost attention, and transactions can be completed in the fastest turn-around possible.
“There’s a lot that goes into property transactions, and we want to make this process as easy and hassle-free as possible, not only for our clients, but also our agents, so that they have more time to cater to their clients’ needs, as well as finding standout properties to put into the market,” Erasmus said.
This is among the reasons why they have garnered multiple awards over the years, including being named among the top three achievers in the commercial estate agency category in this year’s Bank Windhoek Real Estate Agent Awards.
Anything from a flat to a farm
Three years ago, the team diversified their offering to include farms as this, as with most Namibians, is a great passion for Erasmus and his team.
“We all love the outdoors and besides the joy of living out in nature, the commercial potential of farming is huge, and plays a critical role in growing our economy as a nation. That’s why it was important for us to move into the space where we can assist clients to find the ideal farm to suit their aspirations,” he said.
