Amplifying Voices: Redenaars 2024

On 13 March, the annual ATKV Redenaars was held in the Christiaan Grobler school hall. The tradition of Afrikaans redenaars thrives as a testament to the school's commitment to cultural enrichment. With each eloquent speech and impassioned performance, the high school learners embody the spirit of Afrikaans pride and excellence.

The journey of Afrikaans redenaars begins with a deep appreciation for language and expression. These dedicated activities empower learners to hone their oratorical skills and unleash their potential as persuasive communicators. Under the guidance of experienced mentors and teachers, they learn to craft compelling speeches, refine their delivery techniques, and master the nuances of Afrikaans rhetoric.

The journey of Afrikaans redenaars at Pro-Ed extends far beyond the confines of the classroom or auditorium. With a deep sense of social responsibility, students actively engage with issues that affect their local and global communities, using their voices to advocate for positive change. This year the ATKV gave themes to each category. The juniors had to create a speech that used the themes “kantlyn, meulsteen or boekmerk” and the seniors had to incorporate the themes of “metafoor, paradoks or visie”. Each learner prepared amazing speeches and left the audience in awe.

The tradition of Afrikaans redenaars at Pro-Ed shined as a beacon of excellence and inspiration. Through their dedication, creativity, and unwavering commitment to the art of public speaking, learners embodied the spirit of Afrikaans pride and resilience. As they continue to journey forward, their voices will echo with passion and purpose, leaving an indelible mark on their school, their community, and the world beyond. A special thank you to all the judges that took time from their day to make this a success for the learners. There were a total of about 40 speakers, and they all gave their best.
