Children's Parliament profiles

Why did you decide to join the sixth Children’s Parliament?
Zoe Karsten
Jessica Rantsch, 16

Hardap Region, M&K Gertze High School

Committee: Child Health and Safety

A lot of children face struggles, and the Children's Parliament gives me the opportunity to share my concerns and suggestions on how to bring change for all children in Namibia. Here I have a platform to be a voice for children in need, and this opportunity creates inclusivity for the youth of all regions in Namibia. I want to collaborate with my comrades to bring about change.

Vehana Kasetura, 17

Otjozondjupa Region, J.G. van der Wath Secondary School

Committee: Child Health and Safety

I decided to join this year's Children's Parliament because I want to help bring change to the children who don't have a voice. I want to represent the children of my region and, together with my fellow members, help find solutions to the issues our Namibian youth face.

Milisi Joubert, 16

Zambezi Region, Sikosinyana Senior Secondary School

Committee: Child Health and Safety

I decided to join to bring our views forth, represent the children of our country, and most importantly, bring up the problems my region is facing, especially at schools. The Children's Parliament is a great opportunity for youth to express their views and find solutions.

Shaun Hunibeb, 17

Kunene Region, Etoshapoort Junior Secondary School

Committee: Education and Information Communication Technology

It is a pleasure to be at the Children's Parliament this year. We, the parliamentarians, came here to speak about the challenges and problems that children and marginalised groups face. We want to improve on problems by coming up with strategies and helping those in need by raising our voices. This is for the betterment of Namibia's children.

Ruueza Mbangura,15

Omaheke Region, Wennie du Plessis

Committee: Gender Equality, Marginalised Empowerment, and Social Welfare

It is a highly beneficial platform where I continuously learn new things every day. It provides opportunities for personal development, encourages knowledge sharing, and supports addressing important issues faced by youth in their schools and communities.

Naomi Shakungu, 17

Oshana Region, Gabriel Taapopi Secondary School

An educational platform fostering individual and collective growth, emphasising the importance of teamwork and team building. It provides a space for youth to voice their concerns and address pressing issues within their schools and communities, promoting continuous learning and personal development.

It is an excellent platform where youth can voice their concerns and address pressing issues faced in their schools or communities.
