Differences are worth embracing

Kudakwashe Musara and Alison Madziwa
Culture extends beyond being proud of your origins, dress code, dialect, and skin tone. At Amazing Kids Private School and Academy, it is all about the comfort one feels. We celebrate and embrace culture to the fullest.

There is room to be unique and express yourself and being proud of your forefathers. Nevertheless, this is where the challenge of being judged as unusual can arise.

Every student experiences difficulties as they grow up in a diverse and, at times, unwelcoming world, where it can feel lonely and at times harsh.

Amazing Kids has become a meeting place for diverse learners, where everyone gives each other the opportunity to explain why they act as they do, and, over time, this allows learners to understand each other better.

Differences

Some people believe that the way they speak or do things is optimal, while others completely disagree, and at the end of the day, misunderstandings may arise.

That is why it is critical that peers attempt to understand where others come from and study their histories and cultures.

Cultural diversity is worth recognising, and beauty may be found in our differences. Cultural variety benefits everyone in both educational and professional settings. It opens the way for stronger problem-solving abilities as well as increased empathy and compassion.

Culture is a broad term that encompasses beliefs, values, norms, and behaviours.

It comes with many benefits, such as recognising the existence of different cultures, respecting each other's differences, acknowledging that all cultural expressions are valid, and celebrating differences rather than simply tolerating them.
