Duinesig High School choir festival competition
Duinesig High School in Walvis Bay turned 40 on 3 March, and hosted its birthday celebrations on 18 March. It was a great and joyous occasion.
Along with the birthday, the school also hosted a choir competition, in which schools from the Hardap and Erongo regions took part. The competition saw Kuisemund, Swakopmund, Petrus !Ganeb, Si !Gobs, M&K Gertze and Monica secondary schools taking part.
“I had a great time singing against other schools. I have made a lot of new friends at this auspicious competition. It was a lot of fun!” Sharon Hoabes, a learner from Kuisebmond Secondary School, said.
Another learner from Kuisebmond share their thoughts on the theme song of the competition: “This song is very complicated. The theme song was newly written. The way they had to sing it wasn't fair, but they did their best,” Alloys Tsaeb said.
Tsaeb added that the competition was top-class and that he made new friends from M&K, which is awesome.
