Grade 10s visit Logos Hope
Grade 10 learners from local schools in Walvis Bay had the unique opportunity to visit the Logos Hope ship, the world’s largest floating book fair, earlier this year. The ship, renowned for its vast collection of over 5 000 books, offers more than just literature - it’s a melting pot of cultures, with crew members from over 60 countries.
During the visit, learners eagerly browsed through the books on display, purchasing titles that caught their interest. More than that, they engaged with the international crew, learning about different cultures, customs and languages. “It felt like travelling the world without leaving Namibia,” Kavemuii Mbatira said.
The visit was an eye-opening experience for many. Learners not only left with new reading material, but also with a greater understanding of the diverse world around them. Teachers highlighted the significance of such outings in fostering global awareness. “This visit broadened their horizons and exposed them to new ways of thinking,” Mrs Thal Kisting noted.
The Logos Hope ship, which travels the world promoting affordable education and cultural exchange, provided the learners with a memorable and enriching experience, enhancing both their academic and personal growth.
