Hitting the perfect note at Voice of Namibia Kidz
The youth singing sensation of 2024
Voice of Namibia Kidz will take place on 20 April as part of the Zappy Joy Kids Festival. The event will be hosted at Wanderers Sport Club.
The festival gates will open early in the morning at 09:00 for an entire day of fun-filled activities for kids and families to enjoy. Nearing the end of the day, at 15:00, the Voice of Namibia Kidz competition will start and showcase all of Namibia’s young singing talent.
This year marks the fourth season of Voice of Namibia Kidz where young children compete against one another to be crowned the winner. Alinda Lu’Mar, founder and owner of Voice of Namibia - now in its seventh season for adults - expressed her excitement for the event.
Signing up for the event is still possible until 16 April and all children between seven and fifteen are encouraged to show off their singing talents. The details for entries are available on the event’s Facebook page.
The previous winner, Magdaleen Pretorius, hails from Outjo and has a passion and talent for singing. She competed at the age of 13 last year.
This event offers the chance to strut your stuff on stage, and can be a dream come true for many. Not only can this be a wonderful experience, but it can also catapult the singing career of young musicians forward by offering them a platform to be noticed by those around them.
Lu’Mar offered a few words of encouragement to the participants: “Remember, there might be someone that's better than you this time, but that's also a good thing! Start to see competition as an inspiration - without envy". She further invites everyone to join the event and wished the contestants the best of luck.
