Inspiring young minds

Ms Albrecht is celebrating her 20th year in teaching, though this career path was never in her plans.
Ms Albrecht initially worked in the private sector and had no intention of becoming a teacher. However, her headmaster encouraged her to try it.

While she told her mother she would teach for only two years, fate had other plans and today she is passionate about education and has no desire to change careers.

"Joining DHPS was a decision driven by the cultural opportunities, the school’s advanced technology, and its smaller class sizes, allowing me to give each learner the attention they need," she said.

She describes her experience so far as incredibly welcoming, with helpful colleagues and a friendly environment.

Ms. Albrecht hopes to inspire students to see learning beyond competition and pressure. She encourages them to think outside the box, question the world and develop a genuine love for knowledge. “It’s not just about adapting teaching methods, but about creating a real connection with children,” she said.

Beyond teaching, Ms Albrecht has a creative side. She was a ballerina for many years and even directed a play staged in the National Theatre of Namibia.

Ms. Albrecht’s journey proves that sometimes destiny finds us where we least expect it.
