In an exciting single league match last weekend, the King Price Windhoek Gymnasium Lions bounced back in the second half to secure maximum points against Pro Ed Academy. The clash showcased a dramatic turnaround, with both teams displaying fantastic rugby.
Pro Ed Academy started strong, with their captain and centre Tayton Saunders scoring an early try, followed by a successful conversion kick from fly-half Jandre Robberts. Their dominance in the scrums was evident as they controlled the early stages of the match.
However, the Lions responded when their captain, number eight Ruan Agenbag, scored their first try from a penalty line-out. Fly-half Waldre Kotze then made a clean conversion, bringing the score closer. Pro Ed further extended their lead with a penalty kick by Robberts.
Just before half-time, Pro Ed lock Jivaldo Pienaar executed a blazing run for a try, though Robberts missed the conversion, leaving the first half score at 15-7 in favour of Pro Ed.
In the second half, the Lions came out determined. Scrum-half Janco Bredenhann broke through Pro Ed's defense for a solo try, though Kotze missed the conversion. The Lions continued their relentless push, resulting in a try by Jandre van Zyl, assisted by Bredenhann after a close-range line-out.
