In a significant step toward enhancing educational opportunities for Namibian youth, the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) officially launched its Information Sharing Platform earlier this week.

This initiative aims to address the critical challenge of limited access to bursaries, scholarships and other funding opportunities, ensuring that young Namibians can develop the skills necessary to meet the demands of investors and emerging sectors.

Acting CEO Johan Steenkamp emphasised the importance of the platform.

“This initiative aims at enhancing access to education and skills development opportunities for our youth. The launch marks the pivotal moment in our collective journey toward empowering young Namibians by providing them with the necessary tools to succeed in their educational and professional goals.”

He explained that the platform is designed as a centralised hub for credible and up-to-date information regarding local and, in the future, international educational funding opportunities.

"Our platform will serve as a centralised hub where young people can easily access current and credible information.”

Leandri Petrus, human resource development manager at Debmarine Namibia, also spoke at the launch on the initiative’s broader effects to the Namibian nation. “A well-educated person is better equipped not only to improve their own lives but also to contribute meaningfully to society,” she said. She highlighted the importance of equal access to opportunities.

“Every child deserves the same access to these opportunities so that they too can dream big and reach their full potential.”

With this platform, the NIPDB aims to level the playing field, ensuring that all Namibian youth can benefit from educational opportunities and ultimately contribute to the nation’s development.
