Sewn into the system
The significance of Oshakati SS's ujniform
Let’s start with the definition of a uniform. Basically, a uniform is attire that shows you are a school learner and it makes it easier to identify learners from certain schools.
Oshakati SSS uniforms are not worn to beautify but to show uniqueness and the school culture, including the representation of the source of education and learners being at the same standard.
Oshakati SSS believes that a uniform does not define who you are but what you are becoming. It also shows your uniqueness, increases the school's pride as a whole and gives morality to the school. At the same time, it enhances the school spirit.
Uniforms at Oshakati SSS consist of four colours which all have a certain meaning. Cream represents the school's pride; brown, the bond we share; grey, the learner's identity; and lastly blue, which defines the leadership of and devotion towards the school.
Learners don’t only wear the uniform to represent themselves, but to uphold the dignity, existence and pride instilled in them.
As a wise man once said: "It’s better to have rather than not having at all". This means wearing a uniform is better than going to schools without a uniform because uniforms build determination and confidence.
