Triumphant College recently hosted its 18th graduation ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the lives of 1 125 bright graduates. The ceremony, held amid a backdrop of jubilation and pride, showcased the accumulation of years of hard work and dedication of students who received certificates, diplomas and degrees. With an enrollment of approximately 7 000 students, the institution continues to shape the future leaders of tomorrow.

The event, graced by distinguished guests, outlined the importance of education in fostering national development and individual empowerment. Their presence served as a testament to the college's commitment to producing graduates of exceptional calibre.

Professor Geoffrey Kiangi, the rector of Triumphant College, opened the ceremony by saying: "Today we celebrate the remarkable achievement of 1 125 students who have dedicated themselves to the pursuit of knowledge".

He added: "These graduates stand as a testament to the transformative power of education and the boundless potential it unlocks". He commended the students for their perseverance and academic achievements. This opened the floor for deputy minister of higher education, Natalia !Goagoses.

"The world you are stepping into is complex and challenging. Economic uncertainties, global tensions and rapid technological advancements define our times, yet, amid these challenges lies an unprecedented opportunity for those equipped with courage and curiosity - qualities that you, our graduates, have demonstrated in abundance," she said.

The atmosphere was filled with a sense of accomplishment and anticipation as graduates crossed the stage to receive their well-deserved certificates. Friends and family members cheered on with pride, celebrating the culmination of years of hard work and determination.

In the highly anticipated keynote speech, the finance and public enterprises minister Ipumbu Shiimi described the pivotal role of education in driving economic growth and prosperity. He emphasised the need for continuous learning and adaptation in an ever-changing global landscape, urging graduates to remain resilient in the face of challenges. "We must acknowledge the backdrop against which you graduate. The world is fraught with economic challenges, global tensions and persistent conflicts."

"Our economic situation presents significant hurdles, including limited employment opportunities," he said, before offering words of encouragement. "Despite the economic challenges, Namibia stands on the cusp of significant transformation. Bolstered by promising developments in the oil and gas sectors, and the groundbreaking advancements in green hydrogen technology, these industries will not only transform our economy, but also generate substantial employment opportunities."

The presence of esteemed government officials shed light on Triumphant College's significance in the national education landscape. The institution continues to uphold its reputation as one dedicated to academic excellence and holistic development.

As the ceremony drew to a close, graduates emerged with a renewed sense of purpose and determination to make a positive impact in their respective fields. Armed with knowledge, skills and a strong sense of community, they are poised to contribute meaningfully to society and shape a brighter future for generations to come.
