Ingashipwa Victor
Ingashipwa states that in order to improve poor academic performance, you need to avoid absences. Being absent for more than one day means you may struggle to catch up and could become confused because you have missed out on discussions with other learners. Additionally, she advises against intentionally missing classes.
Elzaan Gaingos
Elzaan is of the belief that corporal punishment should be prohibited. This is due to the fact that physical punishment harms learners both physically and emotionally. Some learners come from broken homes, and punishing them in such a manner can have negative effects on them.
Hendrina Joseph
Hendrina suggests that extracurricular activities are not solely intended to make school or learning more enjoyable, as most people believe. Rather, they play a significant role in the lives of many learners, particularly those who may struggle with academics. These activities help to maintain a healthy mind.
Angelo Els
As per Angelo's perspective, bullying is often associated with suicidal thoughts and dropping out of school. Therefore, bullying should be discouraged in schools, as learners who experience bullying are more likely to have low self-esteem and may avoid socialising with others because they fear being bullied.
Ngeve Jafet
Ngeve emphasises the importance of extra classes, as they provide teachers with the opportunity to complete what they may have started during regular school hours. This allows learners to have an easier time revising the material.
Joseph Brave
Joseph believes that the academic performance of learners is quite poor and somewhat embarrassing, especially for the grade 11 learners from last year, who struggled with the new curriculum. Only 40% of them were able to advance to AS level and higher education institutions, while the rest did not succeed. The best way to enhance their academic performance is by providing additional classes and making use of educational resources such as YouTube videos.
