What inspired you to become a leader ?

How has this role helped you grow as a person?
Jean Siambango

Becoming head girl has challenged me in ways I never expected. There were times when the responsibilities felt overwhelming, and I struggled to cope mentally. However, this role has taught me that true growth comes from stepping outside of your comfort zone. By facing difficult situations head on, I’ve learned to work under pressure, think on my feet, and develop stronger problem solving skills. Beyond my personal growth, this role has also strengthened my relationships with my peers. I’ve built stronger, more meaningful relationships within the school community, and I feel a greater sense of purpose.

Often people see a head boy or member of the LRC as role for someone who is “perfect”; someone who never makes mistakes, and is every teacher’s favourite. But no one is perfect, and I’m definitely far from it (and no teacher’s favourite!). But that’s exactly why I wanted to do this. To be a relatable and approachable person who students can trust and feel comfortable to talk with. I wanted everyone to know that their voices are being heard, to know their ideas and opinions matter, and to really enjoy coming to school. Our school is an amazing place filled with amazing people, and I just want to make it even better for everyone.
