Bank Windhoek appoints Muteka as human capital executive

Bank Windhoek’s managing director Baronice Hans has announced the appointment of Toini Muteka as the bank’s executive officer for

human capital, effective 1 October.

In her new role, Muteka will be responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the bank, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent and change management, organisational and performance management, training and development, and compensation.

As the human capital executive, she will provide strategic leadership by articulating human capital needs and plans to the executive management team, shareholders and directors, the bank said in a statement.



Leadership positions

Muteka holds an MBA and a postgraduate diploma from Stellenbosch University as well as a bachelor of technology degree in human resources from the Namibia University of Science and Technology.

"With a robust background in the financial industry, Muteka has showcased her capabilities in various leadership positions. Prior engagements include Old Mutual, MTC and Vivo Energy Namibia where she held various roles within the human capital value chain. Muteka has actively

contributed to numerous boards and trustee roles, enriching her leadership profile," the company said.

Hans said Bank Windhoek looks forward to the wealth of knowledge and expertise that Muteka brings to the organisation. “Her extensive experience in human capital management, along with her profound understanding of the financial sector, positions her as an asset to our team. We look forward to her contribution as a member of the Executive Management team and her leadership of the Human Capital Department,” she said.

Hans welcomed Muteka to Bank Windhoek and the Capricorn Group, and wished her a prosperous and rewarding career.
