ETE: Crafting success in content creation
Pioneering young talent in storytelling
ETE specialises in creating compelling content for use in entertainment and advertising and creating long-lasting memories for all occasions.
Ellery Trading Enterprises CC, commonly known as ‘ETE’, was established by Gabriel Ntelamo, a marketing student at the Namibia University of Science and Technology. Established in February 2021, the closed corporation is dedicated to creating captivating content for advertising and entertainment purposes. It is backed by great minds: Ndakondja Uusiku (ground photo and video specialist), Best-Son Ngarandue Keeja (drone pilot), Brian Mulundu (accountant), and Joe Mubusi (economist). Their primary focus revolves around providing top-tier drone aerial photography and videography services to the corporate sector.
They also cater to small-scale photography needs, including private events for individuals. Within the realm of entertainment, their aspirations extend to the creation of both feature-length films and short films, alongside the strategic management of influencer brands. “We bridge the gap between talent and audience,” said Ntelamo.
He said ETE’s journey began as a freelance graphics design service and has since transformed into a competent marketing and content coverage company. They had evolved from the ground up, initially lacking experience and equipment. “Embracing a determined spirit of self-education has proven to be a diligent way for us to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge required by the industry to provide our current range of services.”
Crafting service value and overcoming challenges
Their mission is to provide value for their customers’ investments. This means they prioritise catering to all types of needs and criteria as per their clientele’s needs – all while upholding the principles of honesty and integrity within their service offerings. They aspire to rise as one of the leading consulting marketing agencies in the country and to gain international recognition.
“We are committed to crafting the most impactful and valuable entertainment films within the industry,” he said.
Their clientele encompasses both B2B (business-to-business) and B2C (business-to-consumer), ranging from event coverage to corporate product launches. “It can also be as simple as capturing indoor or outdoor family gatherings.”
Overcoming hurdles
As is the case with all newbies, ETE has also encountered its fair share of challenges, with perhaps the most formidable being the creation of a business without sufficient capital, which proved to be the most difficult to overcome. They also struggled to find the right niche clients to work with on a consistent basis while simultaneously building a portfolio to showcase their abilities.
Additionally, they indicated that the absence of moral support and belief from family and friends in the success of ETE was a demanding emotional challenge. “It required a lot of mental strength and self-belief to make it thus far ‘from dust’. Yet, with the right mindset and unyielding determination, we turned nothing into something, navigating a path from obscurity to a position of significance.”
Storytellers at heart
At ETE, they have the ‘pictures today, treasures tomorrow’ motto, which they believe makes them stand out.
As a group of youngsters making use of their talent, they indicated that they mostly met with applause from clients. They symbolise a beacon of hope within the realm of youth entrepreneurship. The year saw them travel across the country, documenting stunning drone aerial coverage for numerous clients. “We are confident the trust bestowed upon us by clients is the cornerstone of our success. We make efforts to travel to all corners of the country and cater to their needs, regardless of the distance.”
Ntelamo described them as storytellers at heart, with a strategic plan to create stories of sustainable energies across diverse contexts that are entertaining and informative to the audience. “In the upcoming decade, we aspire to further evolve and establish ourselves as a prominent provider of filming and marketing services. Our commitment extends beyond business success, aiming to contribute positively to the environment and engage in meaningful community service initiatives.”
Great vision
He said they see their strides as mere baby steps towards their grander vision on the horizon. Having started with nothing and having managed to establish a firm footing after two years in business, they look forward to the journey ahead. “We also welcome opportunities for joint venture collaborations and investment support for upcoming projects in the future.
