After spending seven years at Stanlib Namibia, Maria Marques shares her journey and the expertise she has gained by working at the company.

She holds a degree in marketing and an honours degree in business management, as well as 10 years’ experience in the sales environment and in investments.
Her qualifications and experience have allowed her to take on the responsibility of managing the retail side of the business.
She works with financial advisers, brokers, and banking channels.
Her accomplishments include building relationships, and while she has experienced difficulties working in the investment world, she has used them as learning opportunities.

A day at work for Marques includes client engagements and research, and training advisers and brokers on products to help them improve their business performance.
Apart from these duties, she actively strives to create awareness for the Stanlib brand by nurturing relationships with clients, advisers, and brokers.
She also analyses data.
Going forward, she plans to provide actionable solutions within the company and to continue boosting the Stanlib name.
Along with broadening her expertise, she works towards perfecting her skills and being recognised for her accomplishments.
“The best phase observed within my career at Stanlib, reminds me of the time I won the Stanlib Excellence Award in 2020. It was overwhelming and a huge motivator for what I do every day in my professional setting,” she said.
