N$36.8m towards solid waste management project
Teaching young learners to recycle
Facilitated by the City of Windhoek, the European Union funded a pre-primary and primary schools recycling competition under the 'improving solid waste management' project.
The prize-giving ceremony was held on Tuesday, 5 September, at Otjomuise Primary School, where learners - alongside their teachers - displayed items they made from recycled material.
Awarded N$7 000 and becoming the City of Windhoek ambassadors for pre-primary and primary school projects in Windhoek is Maria Kindergarten and Moses Van Der Byl Primary School respectively.
Second place winners were awarded N$5 000 each: Muka’s Day Care Centre and Bethold Himumuine Primary School.
Third place winners, awarded N$2 000 each: Butterfly Pre-Primary School and People’s Primary School.
